The 15th Emir of Kano, Aminu Ado Bayero’s Coronation and Staff of Office presentation, slated for Saturday, 3rd July, will reportedly receive heavy security attention to ensure a hitch-free event.
This is as the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osibanjo and the President’s Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari are slated to grace the occasion.
Speaking while briefing the media on the forthcoming epics events, the Dan-Daka of Kano and a member of the Kano Emirate Council, Abbas Dalhatu, said 4000 security personnel from the Police, the DSS, Military, Civil Defense and others are to cover the programs.
He said the Coronation would be done at the Sani Abacha Stadium which can hold 16,000 persons.
He added that 13,000 are going to be at the normal seats while the rest would be reserved for dignitaries.
Abbas Dalhatu, explained that the late Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero was crowned 53 years at the Sani Abacha Stadium and his Son would also be crowned at the same place.
“We are going to have scores of guests from the Vice President, Chief of Staff to the President, Emirs, Oba’s and so many others, and we have perfected a true sound event”.
He explained that shortly after the Coronation, members of the Kano Traditional Institution would go round the Stadium in a Durba after which the Emir himself with his entourage will do their Durba at the place.
“On Monday, the Emir will go round Kano on his Horse to greet his subjects and the movements will begin from the Emirs Palace to Fagge, Government House, Sabon Gari back to the palace through the City Center.
