The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye has directed that the expected special service of the church that was to attract thousands of worshipers at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos on Sunday be postponed indefinitely.
Lagos State Government recently banned any form of worship in churches and Mosques that will attract more than 50 worshipers.
Pastor Adeboye in ordering the postponement told the organizers “we are to obey the laws of the land”.
The program was organized by the First Born Family Parish of RCCG Region 19 tagged BREAKING BARRIERS.
In another development, all branches of the RCCG in Lagos and Ogun States are to hook up to the live telecast of Daddy G. O from Sunday on their Dove television station.
The Assistant General Overseer, Admin and Personnel, Pastor J. F. Odesola gave the instruction in a memo circulated to all Regional Overseers of the Church on Wednesday.
Pastor Odesola also ordered al parishes in Lagos and Ogun States to revert to the House Fellowship system which is not expected to be more than 50 persons per house fellowship to comply with the new directive of the Lagos State Government banning more than 50 worshipers in Churches and Mosques to avoid spread of the endemic Coronavirus.
He said the new arrangement shall be in operation until the Lagos State government changes its position.
