Former Head of Service of the Federation, Winifred Oyo-Ita, has pleaded not guilty to allegations of fraud brought against her by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Mrs. Oyo-Ita alongside eight others on Monday pleaded not guilty to an 18-count charge of fraud including allegations of over N3bn scam.

Oyo-Ita who is arraigned before Justice Taiwo Taiwo is also being investigated over alleged abuse of duty tour allowance, money laundering and alleged theft of government funds.
President Muhammadu Buhari on Thursday, 27th February 2020 approved the retirement of Mrs. Winifred Ekanem Oyo-Ita from the Federal Civil Service.

It was contained in a communiqué by Olusegun A. Adekunle (Esq), the Permanent Secretary (General Services Office) who wrote on behalf of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
The communiqué noted that in approving the retirement, President Muhammadu Buhari affirmed that it would be without prejudice to the on-going investigations into certain allegations against the immediate past Head of the Civil Service of the Federation.
She was replaced with Dr. (Mrs.) Folasade. O. Yemi-Esan.
