APC Caretaker Committee holds talk with Tinubu at his Bourdillion residence in Ikoyi Thursday night.

Members of the Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress are Thursday night in a meeting with National Leader of the party, Bola Tinubu, at his Bourdillion residence in Ikoyi, Lagos State.

Reports say the meeting was still in progress as at 11pm of Thursday night.

The main purpose of the meeting with Jagaban Tinubu is to convince him that the dissolution of the party’s National Working Committee was not targeted at him.

The APC Caretaker Chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, led other members of the committee that included the Secretary, Senator Akpan Udoedehe; Osun State governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, and governor of Niger State, Sani Bello, to the meeting.

The source said the meeting was meant to reassure The National Working Committee of the party headed by Adams Oshiomhole was dissolved last week by the party’s National Executive Committee at an emergency meeting attended by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Also at the venue were Chairman Progressive Governors Forum, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu and Governor Babajide Sanwoolu.

Political pundits said this was seen as a blow to Tinubu’s rumored presidential ambition because of his closeness to Oshiomhole.

Some of the opponents of the Jagaban said there was nothing like the office or position of the PARTY LEADER in the APC constitution and Buhari had stylishly edged Tinubu out of the party.

Tinubu's Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and Buhari's Congress for Progressive fused to become the All Peoples' Congress.
