APC sets Obaseki against Eze-Iyamu for June 22 primary election - promises to be tough.

The political imbroglio within the All Peoples Congress (APC) has reached a summersaulting stage as the Bini Masquerade rolls in gatherings.

A former Secretary to Edo State Government (SSG), Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has emerged the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo.

The Gladiators, Godwin Obaseki and Osagie Eze-Iyamu.

As Eze-Iyamu proceeds to collect nomination form, the incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki spitted fire saying no man can resist or withstand his return as Governor of Edo State.

The two dramatic events leaves June 22 date of APC primaries a day for real security surveillance.

Ize-Iyamu, was announced on Tuesday night in Abuja through a consensus arrangement among the caucus of Adams Oshiomole group that is ready for a ‘roforofo’ fight to reclaim the Governor’s seat it helped Obaseki to.

Chairman of the Oshiomole screening committee, Senator Francis Alimikhena, the representative of Edo North Senatorial District gleefully announced the candidature of Eze-Iyamu who is a well-known gladiator in the politics of Edo State. He is also a Pastor of Redeem Christian Church of God (RCCG).

Other members of the screening committee were a former Edo Deputy Governor, Lucky Imasuen; Gen. Cecil Esekhaigbe; ex-Speaker of Edo House of Assembly, Thomas Okosun; former Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Samson Osagie; ex-member of the House of Representatives, Patrick Obahiagbon and the current Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives, Peter Akpatason.

The Adams Oshiomole group has been at war with the incumbent Governor’s group which developed into unholy acts including removal of all appointees loyal to the APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomole.

A former National Chairman of APC also from Edo State, John Oyegun had said Obaseki is the candidate of President Muhammadu Buhari which was vehemently denied by the Oshiomole group.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) is unshakable about the elections in Edo and Ondo State as it said it will follow social distancing rules. The organization has the constitutional duties to monitor the APC Primaries.
