Anglican Bishop of Oke-Osun Diocese and the Director of Communication at the Anglican Cable Network Nigeria (ACNN TV), the Right Revd. Foluso Taiwo is dead.
One of the children, Tobi tearfully broke the sad news that his father passed on to join the triumphant at 1.15 am 11 November 2020 at Babcock Hospital Sagamu.
Bishop Taiwo and his family are preparing for the wedding ceremonies of Tobi pending Saturday 14 November 2020 in Lagos. The Primate of All Nigeria and Archbishop Metropolitan The Most Revd Henry Ndukuba has received the sad news of the demise of the Bishop of Oke-Osun, the Rt Rev’d Foluso Taiwo, which occurred last night with shock.
In a short condolence message, Primate Ndukuba said:
“Please uphold his wife, the family and the good people of Oke-Osun Diocese in this period of mourning.
“May the soul of our father in God, Bishop Taiwo rest in peace with the LORD. Amen.”
Bishop Taiwo’s last outing in Abuja was the last General Synod of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion that took place on Monday 21st – Friday 25th, September, 2020 at the Headquarters office of the Church the of Nigeria’s Episcopal House. Mathias House Gudu Abuja.

Bishop Taiwo was consecrated Bishop on Tuesday September 24 in Asaba by the immediate past Primate of the Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion His Grace Nicholas Okoh.
Foluso Taiwo, before he became bishop was who the Director of Communication, Church of Nigeria Anglican Communion and the Vicar at Church of the Holy Cross, Wuye District, Abuja.
He was a notable broadcaster, who started his media career since as far back as 1980 at Radio Nigeria, Ibadan, as a freelance journalist and Newscaster before he was fully employed as a Reporter/Editor/Newscaster and HOA correspondent under the Television Service of Oyo State (TSOS).
He grew in his field working in several media outfits such as Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) before he was transferred to Abuja to continue his pastoral ministry.
Though he served as a Canon and Archdeacon of the Diocese of Abuja, he remained a media practitioner and was soon made the general manager of Crowther Radio Station, Abuja; from where he became the Director of Communication and later a newscaster at the Anglican Cable Network Nigeria (ACNN TV.
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
The Chief Executive Officer of Patmos Media Line, Rev. Eniola Olatunji told this reporter that Bishop Taiwo was an amiable colleague at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State in 1982 who related to all his colleague as if they were family.
He recalled Bishop Foluso Taiwo despite the array of Pentecostal Ministers close to him was chosen to minister the word at his Golden birthday in 2008 at a ceremony where another colleague Alhaji Ayinde Soaga was Master of Ceremony at the reception.
According to Rev. Olatunji the late Bishop commanded the great respect of those in the Broadcast media and the Church of God.
