The news from Lagos is not good for the Sporting community of Nigeria especially football community.
Patmos Media Line Sports learnt that the Dean of Defense of Nigerian football, Yisa Sofoluwe died at the ICU at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) on Tuesday night at the of age 53 while waiting to undergo brain Surgery.
Impeccable sources hinted that he breathe his last at about 11pm of Tuesday.
Patmos Media Line only on Tuesday night reported the efforts of Sports Minister, Sunday Dare to assist Sofoluwe with the surgery.
The Minister we reported had sent some cash lifeline to him and was working on sponsorship of his surgery.
Efforts to reach some of his colleagues like Waidi Akanni or his family proved abortive. Our Source in the hospital said “his family members are so devastated as his body will be moved to the mortuary soon”.
Yisa Sofoluwe was born on 28th December 1967 and has won 40 caps with one goal for the Super Eagles where he hung two African Cup of Nations Silver medals on his neck in 1984 and 1988.
He was a regular left full back for Nigeria from 1983 to 1988 and was named Dean of Defense by ace football Commentator, Earnest Okonkwo for his football prowess.
