Buhari and Pastor Adeboye parleyed behind closed doors at the Villa.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday received in audience at his office at the State House, Abuja the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, on Monday.

Details of their discussions behind closed door that held at 1500 hours Nigerian time were not made known as Pastor Adeboye did not speak to the Press after the meeting.

Present at the meeting were the Vice President, Prof. Pastor Yemi Osibanjo who is an ordained Pastor in RCCG and the Chief of Staff, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari. Adeboye had a Doctorate in Mathematics before he became a full time Pastor.

Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, disclosed this via his verified Twitter handle.

“President ‪@MBuhari receives in audience General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (‪@rccghq), ‪@PastorEAAdeboye, at the State House, Abuja,” he said.

The very influential Pastor Adeboye had earlier in the year lent his voice to complaint about insecurity in the nation and observers feel Buhari may be afraid of the Malian debacle where an influential Imam is the one that started the call for a change in government that led to the prevailing Coup.

Adeboye personally led members of his church on a protest march in Lagos to register his displeasure at the insecurity situation.

Also the month of August brought Christians into the trench as Christian leaders slammed Buhari's government for introducing the Company and Allied Matters Act (CAMA), which empowers a federal ministry and Corporate Affairs Commission to regulate the affairs of churches.

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) said the Act is Satanic and the General Overseer of the Living Faith Church, Bishop David Oyedepo is poised for a resistant that allegedly made some government officials to abuse him.

The topic is still trending and it is believed that it could form part of Adeboye and Buhari's discussion during the cleric's visit to the Presidential Villa on Monday.
