The President, Muhammadu Buhari, has approved the appointment of Mr. Adesoji Eniade, as the substantive Director-General/CEO of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC), for tenure of four years.
Mr. Adesoji Eniade, is a seasoned administrator who is an eminent member of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), and who has had a most distinguished career in the civil service, which saw him rise to become the Head of Service (HoS), in Oyo State.
With this appointment, Mr Adesoji Eniade is expected to further develop the processes of empowering Nigerians for good citizenship while guaranteeing sustainable value re-orientation, which are at the core of the mandate of the CLTC.
The CLTC is a parastatal under the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development (FMYSD).
ADESOJI ENIADE, mni.
Adesoji Williams Eniade (born April 3rd, 1959) is a Nigerian public administrator and politician. He was the Oyo State Head of Service between 2014 and 2018, a post he recently retired from after 35 meritorious years in the state's Civil Service. He presently serves as an Executive Assistant (Administration) to the incumbent Governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi. He is currently also a gubernatorial aspirant in the upcoming 2019 elections under the All Progressives Congress party.
• EARLY LIFE and EDUCATION
Mr. Adesoji Eniade was born on 3rd day of April, 1959 in Ibadan to the family of Chief and Mrs. Ayo Eniade.
He began his early education at St. Peters Anglican Primary School, Aremo, Ibadan between 1965 and 1970. He then proceeded to Baptist High School, Iwo between 1971 and 1975 for his secondary school education where he acquired his GCE & apos; A' Level and WASSCE 'O' Level.
He gained admission into The Polytechnic, Ibadan in 1976 to acquire his Higher School Certificate in 1978. He then attended the prestigious University of Ibadan to obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree (Hons.) in Geography in the year 1981. By 1991, Eniade proceeded to the University of Ife (Obafemi Awolowo University), Ile-Ife, Osun state, for a postgraduate Master’s degree in Public Administration.
While serving as a Permanent Secretary, he was nominated by the State Government to participate in the Senior Executive Course 36 of the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, Jos, between January and December, 2012. He successfully graduated and thus became a proud Member of the National Institute (mni).
Adesoji Eniade is widely traveled and has completed short courses and trainings on management, leadership, policy making and implementation, project management, change management, public sector budgeting and budget control, across institutions like the Oxford University, UK, Malaysia lnstitute of Management, University of Stockholm, Sweden, Ghana lnstitute of Management and Public Administration, lnstitute of Public Administration, Topo, Badagry, among others.
He has equally attended World Bank Financed Programmes in Zimbabwe, the Gambia, Uganda and Ghana.
Mr. Soji Eniade began his career at a young age of 23 with the Oyo state Civil service on 8th February, 1983 as an Administrative Officer (Grade VII) in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning. He then served in various capacities in the Ministry of Education, Oyo state Liason Offices in Lagos and Abuja, Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning, Ministry of Health, the Protocol Department of the Governor & Service Matters (Office of the Head of Service), Oyo TESCOM; Oyo SUBEB and Policy Coordination Department. He also had a brief spell on secondment to the Federal Character Commission Abuja as National Coordinator South-west zone.
He became a Permanent Secretary on 1st June, 2009 and he was posted to Service Matters (Office of the Head of Service). He served in other Ministries which include Ministries of Education, Trade, Investment and Cooperatives, Environment and Habitat, and Youths and Sports.
He was appointed the Head of Civil/Public service by the Oyo state by Governor Abiola Ajimobi on 5th August 2014.
After spending 35 years in the Civil service, he retired as the Head of Service on 7th February 2018. In recognition of his meritorious service, the Governor Abiola Ajimobi appointed Mr. Eniade as Executive Assistant (administration) with effect from 8th February, 2018.
• PERSONAL LIFE
Adesoji Eniade is happily married to Mrs. Aderonke Eniade, and the marriage is blessed with wonderful children.
When he is not at work, he is an avid reader who loves fiction and autobiographies.
After serving in the Oyo State Civil Service for 35 years, Adesoji Eniade officially retired from public service on the 7th of February, 2018, and he almost immediately declared his aspiration to become the next Governor of Oyo state in order to keep serving his state. He joined the All Progressives Congress party the week following his retirement in line with his gubernatorial aspirations.
While at the University of Ibadan, Soji was renowned as an enigmatic sportsman and was a member of the University’s football's team representing UI at NUGA games. In recognition of his contribution to the team and his sporting prowess, he was inducted into the University of Ibadan’s Sports Honour Roll.
Amongst other numerous awards, he is also an awardee of the prestigious Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) and also of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) in recognition of his commitment and solidarity for the labour movement.
