Buhari reconstitutes NNPC Board few hours after the passing out of former MD.

Few hours after the passing away of a former Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC),Maikanti Baru President Muhammadu Buhari on Saturday approved the reconstitution of the Board of the NNPC, after the expiration of the term of the board members appointed in 2016.

President Buhari briefly sent a message of his condolences to the Bantu family and went ahead to perform his constitutional duty to reconstitute the board.

His Special Adviser to the President, Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina announced the names of the Board members which are a reflection of Nigeria’s geo-political region.

Chief Pius Akinyelure of South West was returned for a second term with Senator Magnus Abe of South South.

Members of the new Board are: Mohammed Lawal (North West) Tajudeen Umar (North East) Adamu Mahmood Attah (North Central) Senator Magnus Abe (South South) Dr Stephen Dike (South East) Chief Pius Akinyelure (South West).
