An aide of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria has tested positive to the dreaded coronavirus disease.

Minister of health, Dr, Osagie Enahire who announced this in Abuja did not however name the aide.

Fourteen new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Nigeria, bringing the total number of cases to 65. Three discharged cases and one death.

The Nigeria Medical Association (NMA) Thursday demanded for the uniformity of persons on essential duty and requested there be an Executive Order on it by President Buhari.

The NMA called on the authorities of the country to reconvene the 2014 Ebola Team stating categorically that the country still has a lot to benefit from them.

The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media, Mallam Garbs Shehu in a statement said the President commended the unity of purpose in fighting spread of covid-19.

He particularly noted the willingness for self-isolation, social distancing and contributions of public spirited individuals and institutions who supported the Federal Government.

President Buhari said the collective effort of all Nigerians will make a historic difference in checking covid-19.
