Chelsea beat Real Madrid 3-1on aggregate to set up an all English ECL final with Man City.

Chelsea football Club on Wednesday spanked Real Madrid of Spain 2-0 in the 2nd semi-final of the 2020-21 European Champions League chalking 3-1goals aggregate to set up an all-England final having Manchester City wait on the wings after it ousted Paris St Germain 4-1on Tuesday.

Chelsea’s coach, Thomas Tuchel emerged the first Manager in Champions League history to reach the final consecutive seasons with different teams having taken over from Frank Lampard.

Timo Werner opened scoring for Chelsea in 28’ before Mason Mount topped it up in 85’ but Patmos Media Line Sports reports that four yellow cards flew in the 2nd half while three came in 1st half. Of the cards, three went to hosts Chelsea.

So who carts away the 82.4 million Euros total money for winner later? On paper, winners collect 19million Euros; runners-up 15m; each loser at the semi-final stage takes home 12m.

None of the two clubs have lifted the Champions league. Chelsea had a better record being in the finals twice (lost to Man U in 2008 via penalty kick 5-6 and to Bayern Munich in 2009 again via penalty).

Chelsea appeared in the semis five times in 2004 against Monaco; 2005 against Liverpool; 2007 against Liverpool again 2009 against Barca and 2014 against Athletico Madrid.

Manchester City has never appeared in ECL finals but was in the semi with 0-1loss to Real Madrid in 2016.
