The Chief of Defense Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin Thursday led the Air Force crew to bury the first female Helicopter combat heroine, Tolulope Arotlle at the Military Cemetery, Abuja.
An Ambulance belonging to the Air Force with number AF 442 brought her body which was lowered into her grave after several formalities at 11:05 am.
Tears flowed freely as soon as her corpse was brought in with the Chief of Air Force, AVM, Abubakar Sadique; Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello and his wife; Minister of Humanitarin Affairs and Social Development, Sadiya Umar-Farouq and the House Committee Chairman on Air Force, Bala Ib’n Nalla in attendance.
After the Christian Clerics finished their praying rites, her junior sister poured the usual sand rites on her as the parents were obviously not in attendance.
The height of the weeping was when the family made of youths held themselves and wept sore after the sand pouring rites and the Air Officers there present joined in the weeping. Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello was seen holding his wife tight comforting her,
A few kilometres away at the Red Chambers of the National Assembly, The Senators held a minute silence after Senator Smart Adeyemi from Kogi West raised a point of Order to inform the Senate of the burial.
Although the Senate condoled with the family, it refused the prayer of Senator Adeyemi that a structure be named after her. Senator Adeyemi asked the Senate to probe her death.
Born on the 13th of December, 1995 Tolulope hails from Ijumu Local Government Area of Kogi State and obtained of Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the Nigerian Defense Academy, kaduna. She had attended Air Force Primary School and Air Force Secondary School in Kaduna.
Tolulope described as a beautiful and smart young woman also attended Tactical Flying training on the Augusta 10- Power Helicopter Attack in Italy and holds a Commercial pilot Licence.
Patmos Media Line was told that Tolulope was too involved with her career to be engaged to a known man at 25 years but a close friend of hers said the guy was at the grave side on Thursday.
Unfortunately the female Pilot who destroyed many bandits and terrorist with targeted air attacks was killed on July 14 at the premises of the Air Force base in Kaduna by a classmate who wanted to greet her.
The classmate is still in custody waiting to be handed to the Nigerian Police after Tolulope died from head injuries from a car knock down.
