Deputy Governor and his delegation bounced off at 8th day Fidau prayers. Ajimobi family apologizes.
The cold war between the family of the late former All Peoples’ Congress (APC) Governor of Oyo State, Abiola Ajimobi and the incumbent Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) government of Engineer Seyi Makinde is getting more worrisome as an Oyo State Government delegation to the eight days Fidau Prayer Of Ajimobi led by the State Deputy Governor, Rauf Olaniyan were bounced off by security men of the Ajimobi family on Sunday.

Others on the delegation to the Oluyole residence of the Ajimobis were Head of Service, Alhaja Amidat Agboola; Commissioner for Land, Abiodun Abdul-Raheem, and other notable government officials.
Security details attached to the venue were said to have resisted efforts to enter the venue, as they almost engaged in open confrontation with security details attached to Olaniyan.
The Deputy Governor left after making frantic calls to people believed to close to the family.
In a swift reaction, the Ajimobi family tendered unreserved apology to the Deputy Governor and his team with salient excuses. According to the Media Aide of the late Ajimobi, Bolaji Tunji the family said they were not aware that the deputy governor would attend the program as none of his advanced or protocols informed them.
He said the team arrived when the event had started and the gates shut to prevent a violation the COVID-19 protocol as established by NCDC- Social distancing, not more than 30 people in a place and seats arranged, accordingly.
Bolaji said by the time the Ajimobi agents got to the gate to usher the Deputy Governor and his team into the sitting room, he had left. Everything happened within a spate of 10mins.
According to him, through a serving Senator and a former Attorney General they tried to get in touch with him that it was not to slight him and he could sit in a private sitting room provided by the family unfortunately, he had left.
“We however apologize to his Excellency”, he uttered.
The wife of the former Governor, Florence Ajimobi had vexed anger on the same Deputy Governor at the burial saying that throughout the sickness of her husband, the Oyo State Government did not make a move to visit him or at least send a text message stressing “we shall all die one day”.
