About 36 Youth Corps members in Kano who absconded or abandoned their places of Primary Assignments for three months are to repeat their services to the nation.
Kano State Coordinator of the NYSC, Hajia Aishat Mohammed said 2,494 of the Corps members successfully passed out but a further 72 of them are to be discipline for various offences ranging from extension for between two weeks and five months.
Speaking at the passing out parade in Kano, she said the State lost one Mr. Sirajo Lawal who served in one of the local government areas to death.
Speaking on telephone with Patmos Media Line, the Nasarawa State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mr. Dewan said 2,414 Youths Corps members successfully passed out.
None of them is recommended for State honors as 13 of them are on various disciplinary measures while the state lost two of them to death.
Kogi State Coordinator, Olayiwola Lasaki said of the 1,400 posted to the state five were lost to ill health; four died in Lagos and five in Akwa Ibom states.
In Kaduna state, 16 out of 3,049 are to repeat their service year for various offences while Ahidjo Yahaya of Katsina State said 7 were to also lose a year same as Enugu State where Coordinator, Sam Ujuoga said 21 will repeat though they lost three to death. Eight Corps members, according to Mustapha Muhammed of Kebbi are to have extension for four months for violating rules of the NYSC scheme.
Youth Corps members of the 2019 'Batch A' had their passing out parade all over the 36 states of the federation and the FCT on Thursday.
