In these perilous times of the battle of the Coronavirus pandemic attack, medical Doctors Tuesday began an indefinite strike in Abuja the nation’s capital.
President of the Association, Dr. Roland Aigbovo said getting to the decision for the strike is a “difficult decision”.
Dr. Aigbovo explained that the FCT Authorities refused to pay their basic salaries for the past two months which has caused serious financial distress to their members.
According to him the introduction of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) has put their salaries in jeopardy since the FCT authorities began the action.
He however warned that other Health Workers affected by the anomaly may join in the strike within 48 hours if the FCT authority does not apprehend the situation.
