An Ad Hoc Committee of Directors are currently working on a three day programme with the Office of the Vice President and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) to finalise the Report of the Independent Evaluation of ECOWAS Vision 2020 and oversee the development of the ECOWAS Vision 2050 Blueprint.
The ECOWAS Commission Patmos Media Line can reveal constituted the Ad Hoc Committee through an internal memo on Monday and started their meeting Wednesday till Friday 19th March.
The Directors are meeting from March 17th to 19th, 2021 in Abuja, Nigeria to technically review the first draft of the ECOWAS Vision 2050 Blueprint for its finalization as well as to propose a way forward for the adoption of the document and its ownership by all relevant stakeholders.
At the end of the 3-day retreat, the Directors are expected to come up with a revised draft of the ECOWAS Vision 2050 Blueprint for consideration by the Management, a work schedule for the management of process for the development of the first Medium Term Strategic Framework of Vision 2050.
It will also submit an updated roadmap for the finalization of the final draft of the ECOWAS Vision 2050 document and a calendar leading to the adoption of the ECOWAS Vision 2050 document by all ECOWAS stakeholders.
