The Economic and Financial Crime Commission is seeking all means for Britain to extradite former Nigeria’s Petroleum Resources Minister, Mrs. Diezani Alison-Madueke who the commission alleged has diverted over $2.5Billion into her personal purse.

Acting Chairman of the EFCC, Ibrahim Magu said his organization had conducted their investigation with the UK team but Diezani is not brought back to Nigeria because she is under protective custody in Britain.

“We are in touch with the International Community. She’s under protective custody otherwise we would have had her arrested and bringher back to Nigeria”, he said.

Magu alleged that although Diezani is in company of great looters, we need the money to boost our economy.

“We will not allow corruption in Nigeria because it is destructive and disastrous. We have blocked several accounts already”

EFFC he said has secured 1266’convictions in 2019 to February 2020 which included former Governors, Captains of Industries as well as several others in public and private sectors.

Magu said they have recovered billions of naira and millions of foreign currencies.
