Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabactani!

Eloi, Eloi, Lama Sabactani! A statement made by our Lord, Jesus Christ, on the path to glory.

Several people, especially Nigerians are making that sound right now, knowingly or unknowingly.

The statement was particularly popularized by Jesus Christ. It came up in two different Gospels.

KJV Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Mark 15:34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

The two highlighted portions are from me. The first mentioned Eli who we know as a Prophet of the Old Testament times.

Controversies still rage from Bible scholars as to which language Jesus spoke here but the two passages gave us same translation, ‘My God, My God” That means there is a reference to a personality known as Jehovah as the one who has neglected a duty to help. There is also a personal pronoun, ‘my’, the God who is my God.

Lama Sabachthani means “Why has thou forsaken me?”

In these times of government induced oppression and suppression, when those who call upon God are treated like slaves subjected to ethnic chauvinism, degradation via rapes and deaths as well as religious persecution, a devoted Christian who spends quality time upon his watch will surely cry like Jesus with attendant tears. True or false?

Many things happen to so many people and they have applied all the ingredients of receiving – sowing, faith, patience, prayer, fasting, faithfulness and service. Upon all these, nothing has happened over a period of time. It rather looks it is getting worst with no help from anywhere.

Here, Jesus was going through pains and sorrow to fulfill destiny. He is of the Triune God. He is God himself that came as a man. When you study the Theology of God, you will understand He had to come in the flesh to carry out some assignments. Do you know you are on assignment too? There is an assignment in this world that every creation has come for.

ESV Acts 13:36 For David, after he had served the purpose of God in his own generation, fell asleep and was laid with his fathers and saw corruption.

There is a path for each one to tread upon. Though a man and woman known as husband and wife are expected to blend in life, their destinies or what they have to fulfill in life is absolutely different. God knows what to do when there is a conflict there.

Someone experienced pains and sorrow in life and cried out using the same words Jesus used but several years before Jesus came. The man, David the son of Jesse cried in NIV. Ps. 22:1-21.

1 O Lord, the king rejoices in your strength. How great is his joy in the victories you give!

2 You have granted him the desire of his heart and have not withheld the request of his lips.

3 You welcomed him with rich blessings and placed a crown of pure gold on his head.

4 He asked you for life, and you gave it to him — length of days, for ever and ever.

5 Through the victories you gave, his glory is great; you have bestowed on him splendor and majesty.

6 Surely you have granted him eternal blessings and made him glad with the joy of your presence.

7 For the king trusts in the Lord; through the unfailing love of the Most High he will not be shaken.

8 Your hand will lay hold on all your enemies; your right hand will seize your foes.

9 At the time of your appearing you will make them like a fiery furnace.

In his wrath the Lord will swallow them up, and his fire will consume them.

10 You will destroy their descendants from the earth, their posterity from mankind.

11 Though they plot evil against you and devise wicked schemes, they cannot succeed;

12 for you will make them turn their backs when you aim at them with drawn bow.

13 Roaring lions tearing their prey open their mouths wide against me.

14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint.

My heart has turned to wax; it has melted away within me.

15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth; you lay me in the dust of death.

16 Dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet.

17 I can count all my bones; people stare and gloat over me.

18 They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing.

19 But you, O Lord, be not far off; O my Strength, come quickly to help me.

20 Deliver my life from the sword, my precious life from the power of the dogs.

21 Rescue me from the mouth of the lions; save me from the horns of the wild oxen.

Am sure this cry of David is relevant in the Nigeria of 2021. Check the words again. Deep cry of distress. Good people could be in pains, anguish or sorrow but would God forsake His own? Forsake means to abandon; be separated from; jilt as lovers; estranged; suppressed as in Nigeria; deceived or betrayed or completely avoid someone.

I found it difficult to see where God forsook anyone from Genesis to Revelation. What I present is that, as humans, we want God to attend to us with speed. Can you imagine the years Joseph went through hell on earth? He was sold out at age 17 and did not become Prime Minister in Egypt until 43years of age. That was an agony of 26 years. It will be like there is no God for that period, isn’t?

We did not know how many years Job passed through his own travails but it was painful. Hear Job: NAB Job 17:1 “My spirit is broken, my lamp of life extinguished; my burial is at hand”. Yet it was written: LXE Job 19:25 “For I know that he is eternal who is about to deliver me”. Or KJV Job 19:25 “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth”. Dearly beloved, believe me, your Redeemer liveth, He will not only give you victory, He will glorify you. Hallelujah!

What about the woman with the issue of blood for 12 years? KJV Luke 8:43 “And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any”. Did all the witches in her village pursue her? Leave the Doctors. Was there no fire tongue praying, healing gifted Pastor in her age? Imagine the shame of smelling. She for don take blood supplement die as we dey talk am for we language ke.

I know a man who many thought God had forsaken. He was captured by government and thrown into the Lion’s Den. May be the Lion’s name was Sconic, remember the University of Ibadan Lion? Our heavenly Father gave Sconic instruction, that man they will put in your den is not meat for you o. Sconic would have been cursing Daniel with an evil eye blink, “Alakoba, you want me to eat poisoned food and die?” So, Sconic ‘siddon look’ after the philosophy of Bola Ige. I prophesy to someone that all the Bulls of Bashan that are waiting to consume your flesh will more than ‘siddon look’, they will go into deep slumber until you have made it, in the name of Jesus. You know what? Sleep departed from King Nebuchadnezzar for he could not even take a nap till morning came. He spent the night fasting for the man he put in danger. Fasting? After he asked how Daniel fared and Daniel answered: KJV Daniel 6:22 “My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt”. You know what happened to his Captor-in-Chief? Then was the king exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.

“And the king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they came at the bottom of the den. V23-24. I prophesy to you and the nation, Nigeria that every Nebuchadnezzer that held you captive shall know no peace again. As the life of the animal is in the blood, by the authority that I have in Christ Jesus, I withdraw the health of your Nebuchadnezzer and by the law of exchange, the pains you are to go through from this moment, he and all his associates shall encounter double in the name of Jesus! Pharaoh did not die alone in the Red Sea, he went with the best of his fighters, the God that supervised the burial of Pharaoh in the Red Sea shall ensure that every oppressor of your live is buried in the Red Sea of your live. It shall happen very soon.

Daddy said, “I will not fail thee nor forsake thee”. Moses said that to Israel in the last counsel in Deut. 31:6. There is a verse I love. BBE Joshua 1:5 “While you are living, all will give way before you: as I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will not take away my help from you or give you up”. Thank you God! Joshua needed these words like you and I because he saw the problems Moses had in leading the people of Israel.

God had to close His eyes on Jesus because without the cross there is no glory. The cross which the world is celebrating via the resurrection symbolizes pains, anguish and sorrow but beyond the cross is a great glory. God has not left you to rot away. God cannot lead you this far, to now abandon you. You tow the right path with a faithful relationship and service to God. Jesus was faithful unto the end. God will bring you to the fulfillment of His plans and promises for your life.

This is God’s plan for you. ESV Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for wholeness and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”. The KJV version talks of an expected end. You will end well. Great words are coming for you. KJV Genesis 28:15 “And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of”.

To have these words work for you dear friend, you need to connect to He who has given the words. Accept Jesus Christ as your Savior and He shall be a wall unto you until you end. Would you want Him to come into your life? Call him now. Ask Him to have mercy on you.

1. There shall be assassinations in Nigeria Top people with opposing view shall be killed. That is the new agenda.

2. Before I told you police men shall be killed and they shall be afraid to wear their uniforms. That was before #ENDSARS. I said January, it shall increase. But now, it shall be a disturbing occurrence in Northern part of Nigeria where bodies of police and soldiers shall litter the streets. It shall cause confusion.

3. There is a traditional ruler who has been praying to die. He is wondering why his maker has not taken him. Well, he will go this April. Sign to know is that they will say nothing happened to him. He will not be sick in his body. He will just transit.

4. More glory coming to Nigeria from across the seas.

5. You will hear good news that will make you dance without organized music soon.
