The Interim Management Council of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has been dissolved by the Federal Government with immediate effect.
Government therefor ordered the affected officers are to hand over to the most senior civil servant under them.
The Presidential Spokesman, Femi Adesina who disclosed this on Thursday night said the Government action is sequel to the recommendation of the Senate that the NDDC IMC be dissolved and the NDDC be returned to the Presidency for proper supervision.
Government has therefore appointed Senator Magnus Ngei Abe as sole Administrator for initial period of 6 months.
The Federal Government also returned the NDDC to the Presidency for proper supervision.
The President assured Niger Deltans that the forensic Audit of the Commission will continue unhindered.
The NDDC has been in the eye of the storm with several billions of Naira missing or allegedly misappropriated with hundreds ofun executed or inflated contracts.
The investigation is leading to several litigations among those involved.
The general public has severally expressed displeasure on the NDDC in the social media.
