FG WILL NOT TOLERATE SECURITY BREACHES AT BOARDERS. - Buhari.

The Federal Government has reiterated its stand that it will not tolerate security breaches at her boarders.

President Muhammadu Buhari emphasized this while approving the recommendations of the Board of Inquiry set up by the National Security Adviser (NSA) to investigate the release without due authorization of 295 smuggled petrol tankers by some security officials charged with the important responsibility of protecting Nigerian boarders.

President Buhari directed the immediate withdrawal and replacement of all those found culpable in the illegal exercise.

He said their respective organizations will also immediately take appropriate disciplinary action against them.

Despite commending the security agencies for securing well the nation’s boarders, the President said, “we will continue to show zero tolerance for corruption and abuse of office”.

The Board of Inquiry had recommended that all officials whether civilians or security operatives, found to have connived to undermine Government’s efforts should be withdrawn from the ongoing boarder drills and severely sanctioned by their respective organizations.

A Patmos Media Line check on the military and Para military organizations involved in the Boarder saga shows they are awaiting official information and instructions from the office of the National Security Adviser.

One of the top security officers told us that when the case came up, “we handed our men to the NSA and stayed off the investigations so we await their decision if they are to return the men to us, there is a protocol of actions”.
