Fire guts Florence Ajimobi’s shop at Bodija less than five months after losing hubby.

A mid- Sunday afternoon fire gutted a supermarket at Bodija in Ibadan known as Grandex Stores belonging to the wife of the late former Governor of Oyo State, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi.

The Federal Fire Service in Oyo State confirmed the incident saying it responded to the incident, saving goods worth millions in the process.

In a tweet, the service wrote: “Our men responded to an outbreak of fire at Grandex Stores, Osuntokun Avenue, Bodija, Ibadan, Oyo State.

“The fire incident occurred today, 8th November, 2020.

“Millions of Naira worth of goods was salvaged due to the swift response of our gallant men and State fire service.”

Efforts to reach Mrs. Florence Ajimobi who is still mourning the demise of her late husband by Patmos Media Line proved abortive.

Her husband, Senator Isiaka Abiola Adeyemi Ajimobi (16 December 1949 – 25 June 2020) was a Nigerian politician from Oyo State, south-western Nigeria. He was formerly the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the National Oil and Chemical Marketing Company, a subsidiary of Shell Petroleum, Nigeria.

Florence married Abiola Ajimobi in 1980 and were blessed with children but her husband took over from Christopher Alao Akala as Governor of Oyo State in 2011 before Seyi Makinde continued as Governor from May 29 2019.
