Former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi who passed on Thursday afternoon shortly after President Muhammadu Buhari swept off his National Working Committee (NWC) is to be buried in Ibadan tomorrow afternoon.
Sources close to the family said the former Governor was not a Covid-19 patient as claimed by the media but had multiple challenges which made his organs collapse severally.
The ailing 70-year-old, Ex-Governor of Oyo state, Senator Abiola Ajimobi who had reportedly been on a life support machine since last Friday at First Cardiology Hospital in Ikoyi, Lagos, after slipping into a coma following Coronavirus complications, finally died on Thursday, and will be buried at his family compound near Cooke’s Memorial Church in Beere in the heart of Ibadan.
This Patmos Media Line learnt is because the former Lagelu Grammar School old boy’s private house located at Oluyole Estate has outlawed burying anyone within the Estate.
The family will be coming down to Ibadan tomorrow with his corpse but the burial committee it was learnt has a heartache on how to manage the burial without infringement on Covid-19 rules as he is from a large family in Ibadan; a former Governor and coping with the Area Boys from Beere and Molete. It was as if Senator Ajimobi had a premonition that he would die at 70 as he spoke in this short video. The video in Yoruba language had him saying if he dies at 70 he will be satisfied. Did God answer his prayers? (sorry video not availble)
On Monday, a reliable source close to the ex-governor had disclosed that Ajimobi had been on life support machine after he slipped into a deep coma and may not make any recovery going by the observations of medical experts around him.
The source further disclosed that the former Oyo governor had a lung surgery since being rushed to the Lagos hospital but made no progress while his kidneys had also failed.
Doctors treating Ajimobi, it was reliably gathered, last Friday informed his family that his situation had defied every medical intervention and that only a miracle could bring him back to life.
You will recall that Patmos Media Line broke the news of his death but had to step down the story when family members said to us that he was alive but on life support.
He ruled Oyo State as Governor for eight years but his attempt to return to the Senate failed as he lost his election.
