In an accident involving a truck and a commercial bus along Ijebu Ode-Oru Route, four people were reportedly killed on Saturday afternoon while two other people also suffered injuries.
Babatunde Akinbiyi, The spokesperson for Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps confirmed the casualties and revealed that the incident occurred around 1 pm. Mr Akibiyi blamed the crash on the driver of the truck for speeding and losing control.
According to him, six people were involved in the accident, three women and three men. He explained that the Truck was running at a high speed when it rammed into a commercial bus. All of the bus passengers, including the driver, were killed on the spot.
Mr. Babatunde Akinbiyi revealed that the body of the victims has been deposited at the Ijebu Ode General Hospital morgue while the truck driver and one other person are being treated in the same hospital.
He said, Seni Ogunyemi, TRACE Corps Commander, sympathized with the family of the victims and warned vehicle drivers to be cautious and careful while driving on the road
