Nigeria’s new introduction to the world heavyweight boxing title, Efe Ajagba Sunday morning knocked out much rated Razvan Cojanu in the 9th of their scheduled 10 rounds at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, America.
Ref. Ron Lipton had to stop the bout to save Cojanu, who the 6ft 6ins and 242 pound underdog challenger in Efe,had knocked down twice in the bout at 2 minutes 46 seconds of the 9th round from further punishment .
The bout was an under-card to the Adam Kownacki versus Robert Helenius title fight.
It was the 4th knockout for stunned Cojanu in nine years as a pro bringing his record to 17 wins, 7 draws and 9 loses.
Efe Ajagba turned pro in 2018.
Cojanu who spoke after the bout said, “Am surprised, that kid has led in his palms”.
Nigerian born British boxer, Anthony Joshua (AJ) rules the world in the heavyweight category holding four of the five world titles. There is also the one they call THE NIGERIAN NIGHTMARE, former champion, Samuel Peters.
