LAGOS LAWYER GIVES FG LEGAL PIN FALL IN COURT.

A Lagos based lawyer, Olukoya Ogungbeje has defeated the Federal Government in a law suit for disrupting the August 5, 2019 # RevolutionNow protest.

The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos slammed the Federal Government a fine of N1mllion to be paid to a Lagos based lawyer Olukoya Ogungbeje, for using the police to disrupt August 5, 2019 meeting.

The lawyer had sued the Federal Government for N500m, for using security operatives to tear-gas him and other protesters.

Justice Maureen Onyetenu of the Federal High Court, Lagos who awarded the sum in favor of the lawyer, upheld his argument of disruption of the peaceful protest by the Federal Government through the police being “illegal, oppressive, undemocratic and unconstitutional.”

She also directed the FG to tender a public apology to the applicant in three national daily newspapers.

The DSS’ argument of not being involved in disruption of the protest was also upheld by Justice Onyetenu.
