The Champions’ League group stage reaches its climax on Tuesday night for four groups as erstwhile European giants Borrusia Dortmund that scored the highest goals of the night whipping visiting Beskitas 5-0 fell a casualty not qualifying for the last 16 from Group C and may head for Europa League.

Liverpool and Manchester City had already secured top spot in their respective groups and had the luxury of being able to rest players against AC Milan and RB Leipzig - although Pep Guardiola’s men fell to a 2-1 defeat.

Only Ajax and Jurgen Klopp’s Reds won all six of their matches for a perfect group stage, something Bayern could pull off against Barcelona on Wednesday.

Ajax maintained superiority in Group C beating Sporting Lisbon 4-2.

Group C ended with Ajax chalking an impressive 18 points, Sporting Lisbon though made 9 points with Dortmund but qualified on goals difference as Sporting had +2 and Dortmund -1 so Beskitas came without winning or drawing a match with zero point.
