MARTINS OLOJA IS NEW EDITOR IN CHIEF OF THE GUARDIAN NEWSPAPERS.

Erudite Editor and a pillar of the Christian Journalist Association of Nigeria, Mr. Martins Oloja has been appointed the Editor of the Flagship Newspaper, THE GUARDIAN and he is to resume on that post on Monday, 23rd March 2020.

Words from Rutam House in Lagos states that he will take over from Mr. Debo Adesina who becomes the Chief Operating Officer until December when he is expected to retire.

Oloja who hails from Irele Local Government of Ondo State was until his appointment the Editor (Daily) and has been the Executive Head of the Newspaper Editorial Board since 2016.

Mr. Alabi Williams who was Editor of The Guardian on Sunday takes over as Editor (Daily) while Kabir Garba will be the Weekend Editor overseeing the Saturday and Sunday titles.

Martins Oloja was a graduate of Lagos University Mass Communication who did a postgraduate Course in International Management at the University of Liverpool.

Oloja was Editor of Abuja Newsday, 1988-1993; Senior Associate Editor, The Source, 1997-1999; Abuja Bureau Chief/Deputy Editor, The Guardian 1999-2012; Editor the Guardian 2012-2016 and Executive Head, The Editorial Board 2016-2020.
