Nasarawa State Government sacks SSG after House of Assembly found him guilty.

The Nasarawa State Government has bowed to the firepower of its State House of Assembly that has spent time to investigate its Secretary to the State Government and found him guilty of gross irregularities in handling some contracts as a state Commissioner before his SSG assignment.

Governor Abdullahi Sule, Monday, ordered the sacked the (SSG), Ahmed Tijani in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary to Government House (Administration), Hamza Gayam. The Governor wishes the former SSG well in his future endeavor.

“The executive governor of Nasarawa state Engr. Abdullahi Sule, has approved the removal of Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Tijjani, as SSG from Monday June 8, 2020,” the statement said.

The statement directed the former SSG to handover all government property in his possession to the Permanent Secretary (Cabinet Affairs) in the office of the SSG.

The sack might not be unconnected to the resolution of the state Assembly which recommended the sack of the embattled SSG over N1billion fraud discovered by ad-hoc committee investigating the incident when the SSG served as the Commissioner for Education in the last administration.

It was not clear whether the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) will take over from there.
