The Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is keeping tab on the forty-six students and her nationals in devastated Italy where economic and social life has been completely paralyzed over the prevailing Coronavirus, Covid-19.

This was disclosed at inter-ministerial briefings that held in Abuja on Monday where the Nigerian Mission in Italy advised her citizens against any form of travel and instead stay in their residences.

The Foreign Affairs mission said they were receiving regular briefings from the other foreign missions here in Nigeria especially the Asian countries and China. Patmos Media Line had reported that Covid-19 had affected all life in Italy that even football matches have been postponed as the team Manager of the U23 team of Juventus and other three players were affected forcing the team to close training and matches of all her teams.

Health Minister, Prof. Osagie Ehamire said four Chinese nationals were quarantined in Jos, Plateau State for testing negative to Covid-19 are under the 14 days supervised isolation. He said there is no new case to worry about.

Information Minister Lai Mohammed who co-chaired the briefing pleaded for synergy among all stake holders as the media houses under him has been directed to give specialized hourly briefing with special jingles and pleaded that the few states that refused them the use of their platforms should please oblige under the pending emergency situation.

Some of the contributors from Ministries and Parastatals complained that prices of face masks and sanitization equipment have suddenly skyrocketed and pleaded with the Health Ministry to flood the market with the items to bring down the price.

President Muhhamadu Buhari has pleaded with Nigerians not to panic at these times of our national trial as the country is doing everything to curb the deadly disease.

A novelty was introduced in Lagos that initially had panicky experiences where kisses and hugs were sharply removed from amorous relationship but now Governor Babajide Sanwoolu and his Health Commissioner have introduced the cross leg greetings that is now adopted nationwide.
