The General Manager of the Nigeria Television Authority, Katsina Alhaji Ayinde Hakeem Soaga has tested positive for the Corona virus.
Chairman of the Katsina State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalist (NUJ), Tukur Dan-Ali announced it on Tuesday evening.

Patmos Media Line Chief Executive, Rev. Eniola Olatunji spoke with his close friend and colleague of 42 years from the Isolation ward in Katsina at exactly 2012 hours of Tuesday evening saying, “Alhaji Soaga is in High spirit believing in will bounce back soon”.
Alhaji AyindeSoaga expressed confidence that he is going to survive the virus, as he has embarked on two weeks compulsory isolation.
Dan-Ali had in announcing Alhaji Soaga’s situation said he “contacted the coronavirus disease as a result of his day to day service as a journalist”.
He urged Government at all levels and other stake holders to provide the media with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other items as protection on their jobs.
The Soaga family has expressed gratitude to the numerous calls and concern raised on their family star.
A statement by Kehinde Soaga disclosed that Alhaji Soaga personally called the NCDC officials to carry out the test on him. Mr. Kehinde said having covid-19 is not a death sentence and we are believing in God for healing as we seek your prayers for a speedy and divine recovery for our father and brother.
Ayinde Soaga started his Broadcasting career with the Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC) before joining NTA Abeokuta from where he was transferred to Abuja. He later became the General Manager of the Ogun State Television Service (OGTV). He was a Network News Reader before he was appointed General Manager of NTA Katsina.
