The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, has insisted that the party will conduct the forthcoming governorship primary in Edo state using direct primary.
Briefing newsmen shortly after a closed door meeting with some serving governors of the party led by Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi state, Oshiomohle said Governor Godwin Obaseki did not reject the direct primary officially.
However, sources at the meeting said that the governor did not agree with the national chairman of the mode of primary.
A court has ruled that the Edo State Government cannot declare Oshiomole as personae non grata in Edo State and bare him from free movement in the State.
The primaries of the party shall be conducted on June 22.
