PDP big wig and business mogul, Buruji Kashamu dies of Covid-19 at the age of 67.

Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chieftain, and former lawmaker, who represented Ogun East Senatorial District, Senator Buruji Kashamu, has died of COVID-19 complications at a Lagos hospital. He was aged 67.

Senator Ben Murray-Bruce in a tweet on Saturday announced the death of his close political ally.

A close aide of Kashamu, who’s referred to as Arabambi also confirmed the death of the business mogul.

Kashamu was said to have been on ICU weeks before his death.

Kashamu had serious brushes with the Federal Government which he accused of trying to extradite him to the United States for an outstanding case on money laundering and drug trafficking which he denied vehemently.

The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun said the death of Kashamu was a great loss to the development of Ogun State.

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo who was a perpetual political adversary of Kashamu said “though he evaded justice but like anybody else he could not evade death” as he wished his family and political allies the comfort to bear the loss.

A philanthropist and politician who refused to cross carpet, Kashamu was still warming up to contest for the Ogun State Gubernatorial ticket which he lost twice.
