Super Eagles loses chance to fly above the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia plays 1-1 draw.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria Tuesday failed to post a superlative performance over the Carthage Eagles of Tunisia in an International friendly encounter as Kelechi Ihenacho bungled a glaring chance for a brace and the match ended 1-1.

Leicester forward, Ihenacho had gotten a connect from skipper Ahmed Musa in the 21st minute to get a curtain raiser but played a penalty straight into the goalkeeper after Ahmed Musa was brought down in the vital area in the 30th minute.

A pass from Hamza Rafia to Mohammed Drager beat Nigeria’s goalkeeper, Okoye in the 44th for the Tunisian equalizer.

Although both teams played the 4-3-3 system, having 50-50 ball possession but Nigeria had more shots on target 4-2 while Tunisia was more rough bagging five yellow cards to Nigeria’s two.

Nigeria has an edge in their 20 meetings now winning seven matches to Tunisia’s six with seven draws.

In other International friendlies Algeria defeated Nigeria 1-0 last weekend played 2-2 with Mexico; Japan defeated Elephants of Ivory Coast 1-0 while Morocco and DR Congo played 1-1 draw.

The matches between Eagles of Mali and Iran as well as that of Lions of Senegal and Mauritania were canceled.
