European football champions, Liverpool FC were Wednesday night formerly crowned the English Premier League champion after the team slashed and put the hopes of Chelsea FC into a limbo 5-3 to enter their own coronation moments.
It was a night that fireworks sparked severally at Anfield waiting for the glorious and triumphant moment of lifting the coveted trophy after 30 gruesome years of waiting though they are the defending champions of Europe.
The Blues called Chelsea were absent in the first half as Liverpool played brilliant draught game of them scoring through Naby Keita 23rd minute; Trent Alexander-Arnold 38th minute and Wijnaldum 43rd minute before Oliver Giroud put in a classical wake up goal in 45+3 minutes to go into the dressing room.
Frank Lampard must have lampooned his boys telling them they stand a risk of missing the European championship if they lost, so they came fighting like wounded lions but Firmino scored the 4th goal for Liverpool in 55th minute adding pepper into the Chelsea injury before the guys from Stamford Bridge got into serious business.
Nigeria born Tammy Abraham came scoring 61st minute and Pulisic netted the 3rd goal 73rd minute to raise a pseudo fantastic hope at 4-3 to Liverpool. Chelsea needed at least a draw to keep hope alive. But Oxlade-Chamberlain came rocking the boat with an 84th minute goal to seal the Chelsea hope and increase the glory of Liverpool.
And so with 96 points Liverpool has finally won the trophy though there is one more match for all the clubs to draw the curtains on the EPL. Manchester United and Chelsea have not yet confirmed their European Champions ticket like Manchester City that has 78 points; both teams chalked 63 points each with Leicester lurking around with 62 points. Leicester could win their last game and collect 65 points pushing Man U or Chelsea into the Europa League class if any of them loses the last game.
Back to the coronation night, team Manager Jurgen Klopp was the first to appear to receive his medal.
