Two former Governors of Bauchi State have been alleged to in connivance with their aides looted the state to the tune of one trillion Naira while in office.

Incumbent Governor, Bala Mohammed on assumption of duty, had set up an Assets and Recovery Panel to investigate pasts administrations and found both former Isa Yuguda and Mohammed Abubakar guilty.

A member of the panel, Lawal Ibrahim said in Bauchi that some of the state properties were traced to the residence of former Governor Abubakar which must be retrieved.

Hinting that a lead was provided by a whistle blower, Lawal alleged that Governor Abubakar had moved most of the items outside the state.


“The committee cited the house of the former Governor at Faderman Mada and was able to recover some items like 105 Pasta making machines, 10 sewing machines, a carton of surgical hand gloves and several office furniture belonging to the Bauchi State Government”, he added.

Lawal said some equipment that former Governor Abubakar sold to himself like tractors, luxury bus and a house adjacent to Wikki Hotel in the vicinity of Government House with the C-of O was recovered.
