U17 FLAMINGOES OF NIGERIA DRUB GUINEA 6-1 BEFORE HOME CROWD.

Nigeria’s U17 female football team Saturday utterly defeated their Guinean counterparts at the September 28 Stadium in Conakry, Guinea which is home to the Guinean babes by 6-1 in the first leg of the U17 world Cup qualifiers.

Irrepressible Yemisi Samuel got a hat trick scoring in 11th, 85th and 91st minute; Rofiat Imuran got a brace scoring 38th and 65th minute while Chinyere Kalu had the opener in the 3rd minute for Nigeria.

Guinea got their consolatory goal in the 81st minute.

Reports from Guinea said though the Nigerian girls were initially uncertain about their victory due to poor preparation and uncertainty that the match would take place because the Guinean authorities pushed for a postponement due to fears of Coronavirus disease, the Nigerian community in Conakry are hosting the girls to a typical ‘Owambe’ party after the victory.

Reports say Guinean football authorities are embarrassed by the loss and may disband their U17 female team as soon as possible.

Nigeria who had never had it so good over any of their Guinea age group has obviously made the second leg scheduled for Lagos on 14th March a mere formality match.
