He takes over from Hon. Victor Giadom, the Deputy National Secretary.

Bulama, who was to have been inaugurated as the National Secretary since March had his candidacy opposed by a section of the party from his geo-political zone led by the National Vice Chairman from the North-East, Mustapha Salihu.

But the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomole while inaugurating the new scribe said that Bulama emerged after consultation with President Muhammadu Buhari and other stakeholders.

According to Oshiomole, "the party had meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari, governor of Yobe and also consulted other stakeholders of the party where we came to a conclusion that Arc Waziri Bulama should be admitted as the acting National Secretary of the party pending the ratification by the National Convention."

Responding, the new National Secretary promised to work with every organ of the party and other party executives in order to retain her position as the ruling party. He assured party faithful of fairness as he said that he has no agenda of his own.

Bulama appuladed the foresight and contributions of the founding fathers of the party and commended the current NWC for the achievements the party has recorded so far. He promised to do everything possible to bring about the needed unity in the governing party.

The inauguration of the new acting National Secretary was witnessed by the Governor of Gombe State, Alh. Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya; Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum; Chairman of the APC Forum of State Chairmen and the APC chairman in Borno State, Ali Bukar Dalori among other senior party members.

The position became vacant following the election of the former National Secretary, Mai Mala Buni as Governor of Yobe State.
